Plastics are unique in that decoration and color can be added prior, during or after fabrication. The different post mold decorating methods provide different capabilities and benefits. They can be used for graphics application, aesthetics, multi-color and traceability to name a few. The decision of which post mold decorating option to use depends on your requirements and application.
Post Molding Decorating
Solutions to all decorating needs
Pad printing uses a silicon rubber transfer pad to pick up ink or paint from a plate called a cliché on which the graphic image is etched. The cliché may be made of steel for larger productions run or made of nylon for shorter runs. Pad printing is widely used because of its ability to transfer images onto a wide range of surface types and geometries.
Labeling (Part Marking)
人妻女友There are a variety of part marking methods available for traceability and lot control. Imperial Plastics offers both contact and no-contact marking methods. Some contact methods include; labeling, engraving, stamping and chemical etching. Non-contact technologies, such as ink jets, spray valves, and laser etching are also available.
The hot stamping operation utilizes heat and pressure applied to a foil containing an image that is transferred to a molded component. Hot stamping can be used on flat or rounded surfaces. Foils are available in a multitude of colors and finishes. Specialty foils including holographic, metallic and custom printing are also available.
人妻女友In silk screening an image on a fabric screen is placed on the part. Ink or thick paint is then forced through the porous screen image and onto the part’s surface.
人妻女友Paints may be applied to plastic parts for a variety reasons, but most commonly to ensure proper color matching between adjacent plastic and non-plastic parts. Paints are most commonly applied by conventional spray method and cured via drying oven or ambient air.
EMI and RFI shielding compounds provide “immunity” for sensitive components from incoming EMI and RFI. This shielding also prevents excessive emissions of EMI / RFI to other susceptible equipment. These materials can also incorporate flame retardant properties, wear additives, reinforcements, and colorants for a custom solution to meet your exact requirements.
Electroplating is widely used for depositing a variety of metallic coatings onto plastic substrates. Although most widely used for coating ABS or ABS blends many other plastics can now be coated. Electroplated coatings are unique in their ability to combine aesthetic appeal, wear and corrosion resistance with very high levels of shielding.
